Welcome Mustang Families to the '17-'18 school year.  I hope your summer was restful and allowed you to reconnect with loved ones.  I enthusiastically look forward to building upon what we accomplished last year and taking our mustangs to new heights in '17-'18.

This past year we had a great time improving student attendance through our attendance recovery campaign.  This campaign consisted of students earning "Mustang Money" for classroom perfect attendance days.  Students would then visit our student store and purchase goods with their attendance credits.  This year we look forward to starting our campaign the very first month of the school year and adding new incentives for students as well as parents.

Continuing with the topic of attendance, but adding an enrichment twist, brings us to "Saturday Club".  This initiative was a way for us to recover funding and improve attendance while exposing our students to STEM enrichment activities.  Participants left "Saturday Club" with STEM projects in hand, smiles on their faces, and an absence removed from their record.  This year we will begin our attendance recovery sessions as early as October.

We also had a glimpse of what a college going environment does for campus morale and school spirit through our "March Madness" basketball competition.  This past March we saw close to 70 4th-5th grade students participate in a college themed 3 on 3 basketball tournament.  This year we look to grow our participant base and connect the event with our new AVID program.

These are only some of the programs/initiatives amongst many that we look forward to building upon and introducing to our students and families.  If you have any questions/concerns, feel free to stop by and visit.
